Raisel Iglesias - "Iglesias"

$25.00 - $475.00

Raisel Iglesias Travieso (born January 4, 1990) is a Cuban professional pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds. Iglesias played for the Cuban national baseball team in the Cuban National Series and appeared in the 2013 World Baseball Classic and World Port Tournament.

In November 2013, Iglesias defected from Cuba and was signed with the Reds in June 2014. He was originally slated as a starting pitcher but was then moved to the bullpen.  Iglesias has lots of promise and is a very talented young man.

I was commissioned to paint Iglesias by my friend and fellow baseball player, Jim Willison who requested I paint Iglesias on a pitching rubber.  Attached is a picture of the completed and framed painting.

About Chris

Chris grew up on the west side of Cincinnati with a family that loved baseball. His parents and grandmother were die-hard Reds fans who enjoyed listening to Marty and Joe every night.  Chris's older brother, Tom, had such a natural athletic ability that he was scouted by the Pittsburgh Pirates before  being drafted for the Vietnam war.  So it's no surprise that Chris began playing at a very young age and fell in love with the game.  Chris attended Elder High School where another passion was quickly ignited.  A dedicated and observant art teacher noticed Chris's talent for painting and encouraged him to continue spending time honing his skills.  Taking that advice to heart has resulted in Chris's intricate attention to detail in every painting he creates and for what he is most known.
Chris has been commissioned by and his work has been exhibited in museums and galleries from New York to California...The George Krevsky Gallery, The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum, The Louisville Slugger Museum, The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, The Topps Company, Inc.  and many others.
Chris currently lives in Park Hills, KY where he paints and creates in his studio full time.  His work is for sale locally at Newport on the Levee Gallery and The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.
