Beals Wright - "Son of George"
Beals Wright was the son of George Wright and the nephew of Harry Wright - founders of the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings - the first professional baseball team. Beals was an accomplished tennis player during the 1890's/early 1900's and won numerous tournaments. He won the singles title at the 1905 U.S. National Championships. Beals won both the Tennis Single and Doubles Gold Medals at the 1904 St. Louis Olympic Games.
