Ernie Lombardi - "Virtuous"

Ernie Lombardi was a Major League Baseball catcher from 1931-1947. He played 10 seasons for the Cincinnati Reds (1932-1941). Lombardi was an eight-time All-Star (1936-1940, 1942, 1943, 1945), two-time batting champion (1938, 1942), NL MVP (1938) and World Series champion (1940). He was inducted into both the National Baseball Hall of Fame (1986) and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame (1958).
